Butterfly Professionals Conference -
A Celebration of 15 Years
This year our annual conference will be in San Antonio, Texas, November 7-10. In celebration of our 15 year anniversary, IBBA will be going back to its roots. One of the first get togethers of IBBA butterfly breeders was in San Antonio. This year we are going back for the conference and a birthday party.
The IBBA recommends purchasing adult butterflies and does not endorse shipping pupae in boxes that must emerge inside the boxes before release as a butterfly. The quality and success of a butterfly release declines when pupae are shipped in boxes, instead of adult butterflies. For the best results, allow a professional butterfly farm to hand raise your livestock and ship it to you fully developed.
For the highest quality butterflies for your event, be sure to rely on an IBBA farm to provide healthy, strong and stunningly beautiful butterflies.

New in the Ask a Mentor section, Rain Gardens suggestions byRick Mikula.
"Rain gardens are designed to collect rainwater and overflows allowing it to slowly filter through the roots of plants and soak back into the ground. This filtering action will replicate what would have occurred naturally had not we intervened in the first place". Rick's article suggests plants suitable for a rain garden.
